My name is Jo and I'm an alcoholic

There is something about that deep red colour. It's so warm, so succulent, so inviting. I adore it all year round, however its beauty increases tenfold in Autumn. It creates a perfect composition when paired with thick, crispy leaves underfoot, early evening sunsets, morning mist, light drops of dew, darkened park benches, discarded chestnuts and thick cable-knit clad hands warming themselves over an open fire. It offers warmth as the world grows cold and richness as the trees transform into thin, skeletal shadows. Without the brightness of the sun it thrives and awakens. As peaches, yellows or lilacs flourish in the Summer, now burgundy begins to bloom. I cannot express how pleased I am to see that this wonderful shade is still in fashion and will serve to enhance another Autumn, Winter and Christmas.

Let me present to you the depth of my addiction to burgundy...

25: the number of items of clothing I have in this shade

4: the number of times I have gazed at and almost bought a burgundy item I already own

37: the number of times I have worn a burgundy item this year

2: the number of bottles of Barry M burgundy nail varnish I've gone through

6: the number of burgundy items of make-up I own

Time to fly away on soft, velvet black wings...
